At present, China has developed two types of bucket unloaders. One is the catenary type, which is applicable to the deck barge. The chain bucket of the catenary chain bucket unloader has no rigid support in the reclaiming section and is suspended. When the ship bumps, the hopper falling on the deck can float up and down with the deck, so the hopper can work close to the deck and has the clearance capacity. The other is the L-shaped chain bucket ship unloader. The chain bucket excavates and lifts the material to the top, and unloads the material onto the boom belt conveyor through the spiral hopper unloader, and then transports it to the rear. The L-shaped reclaiming head can rotate, and the boom can pitch and rotate. Through automatic control, the reclaiming head can be guaranteed to move along a certain route.

According to the materials unloaded, it can be divided into two types: ore unloading and coal unloading. There are also specially designed models that can take into account both ore unloading and coal unloading. Generally, the rated unloading capacity of the chain bucket continuous ship unloader coal unloader is between 1200t/h and 2500t/h, and the rated unloading capacity of the ore unloader is between 2000t/h and 4500t/h.
